The Speaker will be Canon Ray Jones, our Locum whilst Paul is way on Annual Leave

Ray recently retired as Chaplain at Ypres in Belgium.

Comment from Mike "No one can fail to be moved by a visit to Ypres (Ieper in Flemish or "Wipers" to the troops).

Walking around this pretty medieval city, it is hard to imagine the incredible highs and lows it has endured. Extreme wealth in the Middle Ages and then, less than one hundred years ago, reduced to rubble during World War I. It is a fitting reminder of people's resilience and their ability to bounce back. Which I am sure Ray will talk about.

I am really sad that I will miss this talk

Part Time Assistant Priest

PART TIME ASSISTANT PRIEST

An advertisement for a retired Priest to join the St Christopher’s team on a “House for Duty” basis – i.e. we provide an apartment for him and he takes services and other ministerial duties in return – has been published within the diocese to see if there are some recently retired clergy who may be interested in the position.

We would hope to welcome an extra team member during the Autumn.

Any Volunteers out there apply to Paul.

Alcossebre Market Stall

Well done all, with a special thanks to Paul and his helpers for making this a really worthwhile project.

This was a new venture for us.

See the Press Release of our First Tuesday  <Press Release>

Many thanks to everyone who helped and supported this. In total we raised €433 over the 7 weeks and also met many new people, locals and visitors, and told them about our ministry

"DROP IN” PROGRESS"

We plan to open the Alcossebre Church Drop In Centre on Friday 10th September and are still considering an appropriate name for it. Best suggestion so far is “Junction”. Other ideas welcomed.

Still need a name.
