THE QUEST FOR A NEW PRIEST IN CHARGE

Following a recruitment interview panel this week the Bishop and our representatives agreed not to proceed with this application. It is important that the right man be found for this task and all those involved felt that a  longer interregnum was better than a hasty appointment. Please pray for God´s guidance and provision for St Christopher´s.

UPDATING THE ELECTORAL ROLL

Although the church Annual Meeting is a couple of months away it is time to update the Church electoral roll. If you are already registered from last year you need do nothing. However, if you would wish your name to be added to give you a full voting role in church life please complete a form which is available in church. There is also, in each centre, a copy of the existing roll for you to confirm that you are included.

Any volunteers or suggestions – contact the Churchwardens.

ALPHA BRINGS A CHALLENGE AND OPPORTUNITY

The Alpha Course got off to a fine start – despite one attender being temporarily locked in the loo! – and continues on Wednesday at 1pm in El Camino. This week there is a faith lunch – everyone brings something to share. Alpha is for church members and people seeking to find faith or to deepen their understanding. You can join at any stage and will find the sharing and fellowship a blessing in itself.

Please do not let the opportunity pass you by. Come and sample Alpha this week. More information from Ron Legg - 651 844 496.

CHANGES IN VINAROS

With the election of Phil Cornelius as Churchwarden his position as Parish Treasurer is to be taken over by Les Beech who had formerly served as Local Church Warden in Vinaros. We welcome news that Pamela Cowdery and David Lewis have agreed to become joint Local Wardens. They will share the responsibilities and cover for one another during absences. They will alternate at Church Council meetings. We thank them for their acceptance of this approach to what is an important function within the parish. Their contact 'phone numbers are:

MORE HELP NEEDED !!!

Do you fancy making a few extra cakes or savouries that can be sold in our Drop-in Centres in Alcossebre and Vinaros they are not only part of the church’s ministry but vital sources of funding the ministry now and in the future. We need more people to offer to help – even once every month or so.

Please see if you can give us a hand. Contact Lynda Needle or Michael Cowdery.  See Contact list.

CHURCH PRAYER LIST AND HOSPITAL VISITS

Please help us to keep our church prayer lists up to date and inform us of progress of people for whom prayers have been requested. Paul is willing to visit people in hospital (they do not have to be church attendees or members) but we do need to know quickly who is in hospital, where they are and that they would welcome a visit.

It is not always possible to tell you who everyone is on our Prayer List so please ask for more details if you need your prayers to be better informed.
